Webinar | National Waste Report 2020
The Waste Management and Resource Recovery Association of Australia (WMRR) invites you to join them online on Wednesday, 10 February 2021 for a deep dive into the National Waste Report 2020 with it's authors Blue Environment.
The National Waste Report 2020, commissioned by the Federal Government’s Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment, was released on 23 December 2020 by Trevor Evans, the Assistant Minister for Waste Reduction and Environmental Management. Issued every two years, the report is the authoritative collation of national waste data in Australia, based on information provided by the states and territories and various industry sources. The 2020 edition focuses on the status of waste and resource recovery in 2018-19, covering waste generation, recycling, energy recovery, source streams, material categories plus trends measured back to 2006-07. The Federal Government is using the report to measure progress against National Waste Policy Action Plan’s 2030 targets.
In this webinar the lead author of the National Waste Report 2020, Blue Environment’s Joe Pickin, will introduce the report and summarise its key findings. Time will be allocated for questions at the end of the presentation.
Leading waste and resource recovery specialists, Blue Environment have produced the previous two editions of the National Waste Report (2016 and 2018). Copies of these reports can be downloaded here. Director, Blue Environment
Dr Joe Pickin is a director of Blue Environment strategic environmental consultants. He is a waste specialist with a PhD on the environmental economics of waste and has 25 years’ experience in the sector as a researcher, analyst and consultant. Joe was the primary author of the national waste reports in 2016, 2018 and 2020 and an advisor to the ABC’s War on Waste series.
