Minister’s Release: Recycling Activity Survey (2017-2018)

This year's breakfast will see the Minister for Environment and Water, Hon. David Speirs MP, release the 15th Recycling Activity Survey for South Australia. This survey covers 2017-18, including the commencement of the roll out of China’s National Sword Policy, which was the beginning of some sudden and large changes for the sector. This very important snapshot of the state of Recycling in South Australia helps monitor performance against targets in South Australia’s Waste Strategy 2015-20 and sets the context for important initiatives underway and into the future including;

  • The phase out of single use plastics
  • Review of South Australia’s Container Deposit Scheme
  • A food waste strategy for South Australia
  • South Australia’s Waste Strategy 2020-2025
  • EPA SA Waste Reform

This event will be a great opportunity to meet the Minister and learn about how South Australia is responding to challenges and opportunities in the sector.
