The SA Branch of the Waste Management and Resource Recovery Association of Australia (WMRR) invite you to attend a special seminar on Friday, 27 September 2019, featuring guest speaker Herman Huisman from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, Netherlands.

HERMAN HUISMAN
Senior Advisor International Cooperation, Rijkwaterstaat, Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, Netherlands

Herman Huisman is senior advisor/expert and coordinator international projects of RWS Environment’s department. The waste management department is the competent authority responsible for monitoring of all waste streams, executing subsidy schemes, policy advisor for State Government (preparing policy documents and National programs), implementing waste management and circular economy policies and providing information to local government and private companies.

     
    OLIVER LOVAT
Senior Business Sustainability Adviser, Green Industries SA

Oliver Lovat works in the Business Sustainability Program for Green Industries SA, promoting the circular economy, resource efficiency and the conservation and recovery of scarce resources. 
With a background in chemistry, Oliver’s early career experience working with businesses to improve their industrial wastewater management has developed into a broader passion for the waste/resource recovery sector. Positioning himself at the interface between public and private sectors, Oliver is driven by effecting change within industry, enabling collaborators to optimise resource and material efficiency across the supply chain and helping them to realise the opportunity that a shift towards a more circular economy presents.
     
    TIANA NAIRN
Waste Reform Policy Program Manager, EPA South Australia

Tiana Nairn leads a suite of legislative and policy reforms for improved waste management and resource recovery and is committed to increasing wellbeing through sound environmental policy. Tiana has extensive regulatory reform experience including overseeing the successful passage of the Environment Protection (Waste Reform) Amendment Act 2017 and the Environment Protection (Waste to Resources) Policy 2010, including landfill bans and systematic resource recovery requirements. She has also worked on broader environmental reforms, environmental assessment coordination and as an Associate at a specialist planning and environmental law firm.
