NSW Women of WARR Leadership Breakfast

The Waste Management & Resource Recovery Association of Australia (WMRR) invites you to our annual NSW Women of WARR Leadership Breakfast on Thursday, 20 May 2021 at the Hilton Sydney. This event is designed to celebrate women in our industry who are driving change, and in doing so, breaking down barriers and creating new career prospects for the next generation.

HON SUSSAN LEY
Minister for the Environment

Sussan Ley’s career path has been wonderfully varied, working odd jobs on the way to a pilot’s license, with roles as an air traffic controller, stock-mustering pilot and occasional shearer’s cook.
 
While raising three children on a family farm, ten years study led to a senior position at the Australian Taxation Office before entering federal politics in 2001. 

Serving the rural NSW electorate of Farrer since 2001, Sussan has also been allocated responsibility in a number of portfolio and policy areas, most recently as Minister for the Environment in May 2019.

Sussan regards it as an honour to represent regional Australia, ensuring she makes time to regularly travel through her electorate and around the country listening to the views and concerns of constituents.

 

 

ANNE PRINCE
Director, APrince Consulting (APC)

Anne Prince is a veteran of our industry having been employed in local government, community, industry and the commercial sectors prior to starting her own boutique consultancy – APC in 1997.

Anne has overseen the delivery of 1000 projects in 24 years. She pioneered waste audits, led the Australian Council of Recyclers for 7 years and turned passion into purpose founding Waste Aid to shine a light on poor indigenous waste practices.

In 2010 Anne was voted as the Resources and Waste industry leader. A confessed workaholic, champion of girl power, queen of garbage and mother of recycling!

     

 

JENNY BARNES
General Manager of Operations, Re.Group

Jenny Barnes is a Manufacturing (Chemical) Engineer graduating from Swinburne University with 20+ years in Operations Management and Senior Management in both Australia and USA. 

Jenny's career in the paper industry as a Process Engineer has seen her gain extensive experience in paper manufacturing, anerobic wastewater treatment and Energy from Waste.  Her career highlights are as Project Engineering Manager of a greenfield plant of a new papermill and operation of an Energy from Waste plant. 

Jenny currently holds the role as General Manager of Operations for ReGroup where she is responsible for the management of the group's MRF and FOGO operations.
