WHERE THE RUBBER HITS THE ROAD

South Australia (SA) has historically led the nation on recycling and resource recovery – its initiatives and programs have driven consistent growth in resource recovery and innovation in policy. However, we need a seismic shift to get to a circular economy and a real change in behaviour to prioritise recycled products and procurement across government, industry and the community.  We think 2022 is the time for the rubber to hit the road, for the state to take that next step in its journey and move from ambition to action, so we can shift the dial in these areas and more.

The 2022 conference will provide a forum to share knowledge and discuss the opportunities, pathways and models that will drive SA forward.

PROGRAM

Some of the highlights of the 2022 WARR SA Conference program include:

• A pre-conference technical tour on Monday, 7 November showcasing the latest that the South Australian WARR sector has to offer
• An address from the Hon. Susan Close MP, Deputy Premier of South Australia and Minister for the Minister for Climate, Environment and Water
• A number of keynote presentations from local experts on policy, circular economy, carbon, product stewardship, and more
• Eight (8) sessions covering the breadth of the WARR sector, including food waste + organics, planning, circular economy, market development, regional issues, innovation + technology, behaviour change, and disaster waste management.
• A 2-day trade exhibition featuring local and interstate WARR industry business
• The opportunity to network with your industry peers at two (2) social functions - the pre-conference welcome function on Monday, 7 November and official conference dinner, being held at the Festival Centre on Tuesday, 8 November.

WELCOME FUNCTION

The 2022 WARR SA Welcome Function is being held on Monday, 7 November from 6-8pm at the elegant Hennessey rooftop bar at the Mayfair Hotel.

CONFERENCE DINNER

The 2022 WARR SA official Conference Dinner is being held on Tuesday, 8 November from 6:30-10:30pm in the Banquet Room at the Adelaide Festival Centre.

A COVID-SAFE EVENT

We look forward to welcoming you in-person to our COVID-Safe event. We have implemented a range of measures to ensure the safety of all attendees and staff.  Each of our venue partners have COVID-safe plans in place which meet the South Australian Government’s COVID-19 safety requirements.

REGISTRATION

Conference registrations include access to all sessions on the day/s registered, catering (morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea), speaker presentations (post-conference), and access the Buy Recycled Expo SA. A full registration covers entry to all events, including the pre-conference technical tour and welcome function, both conference days and the official conference dinner.   Package 2 covers entry to all events, except for the pre-conference technical tour.

Please note:

• Payment is via credit card at the time of registration, or choose to 'pay later' and you'll receive an invoice.    
• Cancellations must be notified in writing to WMRR at [email protected]. Cancellations received on or prior to the 28 October 2022 will receive a refund less a $150 administration charge. Refunds WILL NOT be issued for cancellations received after 28 October 2022, however substitutions are welcome at any time without penalty. The same rules apply to cancellations due to COVID-19.
• A full refund will be issued for cancellations due to government-imposed travel restrictions.
• Late fees apply to registrations received after 1 November 2022.
