Dr Overton is the Deputy Chief Executive of Green Industries SA, the State Government agency developing a vibrant zero waste environment, delivering nation-leading disaster waste management and leading the transition to a circular economy. He has a science background in environmental and water resource management and an international business background in entrepreneurship and innovation. Dr Overton is developing new approaches to strategic planning, policy and education to design out waste, keep materials in use longer, improve collection and recycling practices and grow the remanufacturing industry in SA. He has a passion for sustainability and enhancing the environmental, social and economic outcomes for SA by realising the benefits of the circular economy.
