CHRIS NIVISON-SMITH

Senior Civil Engineer - Waste Management

Chris is a Senior Engineer and Associate in GHD’s Sydney Waste Management team. He has over 11 years of experience working in waste management, primarily in landfill engineering. The projects he has collaborated on cover the whole life cycle of a landfill site, including siting and feasibility studies, planning and design for landfill cells and associated infrastructure, construction supervision and quality assurance/auditing, planning and design for landfill closure and rehabilitation, and ongoing environmental monitoring and reporting. 

GRACE BELL

Senior Operations Officer, NSW EPA

Grace has worked in the EPA for 10 years across regulation, compliance, policy, programs and disaster recovery. A central theme of her time at the EPA has been waste and resource recovery, specifically in regional areas. Grace is now managing the Bushfire Recovery Program for Council Landfills.

MARK WINSER

General Manager - Operations, Kimbriki Environmental Enterprises

Mark Winser is General Manager – Operations at Kimbriki Environmental Enterprises Pty Ltd. This role encompasses the operational, projects and planning aspects of a resource recovery centre processing over 300,000 tonnes of waste per annum with a recovery rate approaching 80%. 

Before commencing with Kimbriki Mark was the Technical Manager at the Remondis Organic Resource Recovery Facility, commissioning then operating the Port Macquarie tunnel composting facility processing food and garden waste, biosolids and mixed solid waste.

BEN FULLER

Partner, Gilbert + Tobin Lawyers

Ben is a Planning, Environment and Climate Change Partner at Gilbert + Tobin Lawyers in Sydney. His specialisation includes advising on all aspects of environmental impact assessment and approvals strategy, planning and environment law advice and litigation, remediation and development of contaminated land, climate change and corporate environmental due diligence.   Ben advises waste industry clients on planning and environmental issues across Australia – including on risks associated with some of the biggest cross-jurisdictional waste transactions recently in Australia.
