In this webinar Dr Kevin Wilkinson, Director and Founder of Frontier Ag & Environment and project lead, will provide an update on the 'Revision of AS4454 - Composts, Soil Conditioners and Mulches' project commissioned by the DCCEEW to support the organic waste processing industry to produce clean, consistent and safe recycled organic products such as composts, soil conditioners and mulches. 

Making quality product with reliable end markets is key to the success of the organics industry in Australia. Specifically, the project seeks to address barriers and constraints to the widescale acceptance and use of recycled organic products, particularly in agriculture.

With increasing awareness that industry has limited influence on product and packaging design and the chemical contaminants they contain, it is vital there is a better understanding of the means available to manage quality across the entire recycled organics supply chain (from feedstock collection through to end-product use) which is part of this project scope.

Kevin will discuss the role of organics recovery in the circular economy, critical control points for quality management, the roles and responsibility of various stakeholders, feedstock quality and assurance, as well as taking us on a deep dive into the revision of AS4454.
