Following the success of the 2021 Australian Landfill and Transfer Stations Conference in June, WMRR is rolling out a selection of practical presentations from the program as webinars to assist landfill operators drive process improvement and efficiency. In this first iteration, we will hear from John Jones, SUEZ’s NSW Landfills Manager and Rory San Miguel from Propeller Aero, who will share their insight and experiences on lean landfill management and what innovation at sites looks like. This keynote presentation was a hit at the conference, with many noting the practical learnings particularly for regional and remote sites. 

Joining John and Rory is Nick Simmons, Principal Technical Specialist – Landfills at Australian Environmental Auditors. Nick will drill down on a growing challenge for landfill managers – PFAS concentrations of landfill leachates, focusing on the Victorian landscape, and the overall implications for discharge of leachate to sewer.
