SA Women of WARR Leadership Breakfast

The Waste Management & Resource Recovery Association of Australia (WMRR) is pleased announce the return of our much-loved Women of WARR Leadership Breakfast series (formerly Women of Waste), kicking off in Adelaide on Tuesday, 5 March at the Adelaide Zoo. This event is designed to recognise women who are driving change in industry, and in doing so, breaking down barriers and creating new career prospects for the next generation.

NIKKI GOVAN
Presiding Member
Board of Green Industries SA 

Nikki's executive experience combines a rare mixture across public, private and the not-for-profit spheres. 

Nikki is currently chair, Adelaide Economic Development Agency, a subsidiary of the Adelaide City Council chartered to promote the City of Adelaide for economic growth.  Nikki also chairs the Board of Green Industries South Australia, and is the immediate past chair of Business SA, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry South Australia.

Nikki is a Director of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the National Australia Day Council.

Nikki owns the nationally renowned Star of Greece restaurant in Port Willunga and Victory Hotel in Sellicks Beach.  Collectively, these hospitality businesses employ more than 100 staff during peak season.

Nikki has served on a number of State Government boards and panels across major events, motorsport, training and skills, recidivism, major events and economic development.

     

 

FIONA CHAMBERS GAICD

Central Adelaide Waste and Recycling Authority (CAWRA) 

Fiona has run site tours, audited waste, sniffed bins, drowned in data, helped build a MRF and otherwise ‘lived the waste dream’ for almost 3 decades now. 

Having completed her Masters Degree in Environmental Studies in the late 90s, she worked initially in Bushcare before shifting to recycling and climate change programs. 

While working at the Local Government Association, Fiona helped set up Zero Waste SA (now GISA). She worked at Zero Waste SA for 4 years before moving to the City of Charles Sturt and now CAWRA (the Central Adelaide Waste and Recycling Authority). 

Fiona is mother to twin adult daughters, Jasmin and Kiara. 

 

 

DANIELLE OLRICH
State Sales Manager
REMONDIS Australia

With over 20 years experience in sales and business development, Danielle has a passion for the environment and preserving our valuable resources for future generations. 

In her current role as State Sales Manager for C&I Solid Waste at REMONDIS, Danielle leads the South Australian sales and account management teams. She is accountable for business growth and customer retention, and manages all aspects of commercial tenders and contract management. 

Before joining the waste management sector in 2017, Danielle worked largely in the not-for-profit sector and fundraising, most notably as Engagement Manager for Novita (formerly SCOSA) in sponsorships and corporate engagement where she led a major funding project for the construction of a House for young adults living with a disability. 

Danielle is the proud mother of two young children and an adorable fur-kid called Mr Bevan. Interests over the years include renovating houses, family camp trips and the great outdoors.
