WA Women of WARR Leadership Breakfast

The Waste Management & Resource Recovery Association of Australia (WMRR) is pleased announce that our much-loved Women of WARR Leadership Breakfast is coming to Perth on Friday, 14 June. This event is designed to recognise women who are driving change in industry, and in doing so, breaking down barriers and creating new career prospects for the next generation.

 

 

MEET THE SPEAKERS

 


 

ELIZABETH CARR AM
Chair, Waste Authority

Elizabeth’s background incorporates both the private and public sectors. She has worked in senior executive positions for IBM and Macquarie Group and within senior levels of politics and government in NSW, WA, PNG and the USA.

Elizabeth is a full time non-executive Director with a board portfolio covering Government, Private and Not-For-Profit organizations in both Western Australia and NSW. Her focus is to maximize the inter-dependence of the private and public sectors in order to strengthen the economic and social fabric of our society.

In the 2017 Queens Birthday Honours she was recognized as a recipient of the Order of Australia (AM) “for significant service to the community through voluntary contributions to the health, aged care, education and social services sectors.”

Elizabeth holds a BA (Hons) from UWA, a Master's Degree from Harvard University and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

LIBBY EUSTANCE
Acting Chief Executive Officer
Western Metropolitan Regional Council (WMRC)

Libby’s career starts with eleven years as a geophysicist/internal auditor in an international petroleum company. Following that she had several years bringing up two daughters, two terms as an Elected Member in Mosman Park and nine years with the Western Metropolitan Regional Council where she normally leads the award-winning Communications and Education team.

Libby holds a Masters Degree from Curtin University with a dissertation on waste behaviour change.

Her current role, Acting CEO at WMRC, has been rewarding and challenging. It has drawn on skills and attributes gained from all her previous roles.

JANELLE OSENTON
Circular Economy Coordinator
Good Sammy Enterprises

Janelle has 20 years experience in the waste and resource recovery sector, most recently joining Good Sammy after seeing the opportunity to progress action further up the waste hierarchy to encourage more reuse and resource recovery.

Janelle has worked in local government, state government, not-for-profits and consulting in London, Vancouver, Sydney and Perth. 

Janelle holds a BA of Environmental Studies, Psychology from The University of Notre Dame Australia and an MBA from the University of Wollongong.

Registration will open at 7:00am ready for breakfast service at 7:30am.  Official proceedings get underway at 7:45am with a welcome and introduction by WMRR CEO, Gayle Sloan.  The event will formally wrap up at 9:30am.
