DON RICHARDSON

Principal Engineer, Golder

Don is a Principal Engineer based in Adelaide.  He has worked with waste management projects in South Australia, Canberra, Darwin, Victoria and Vancouver.  Don has 28 years experience with design and construction of containment projects for landfill and mining projects using a range of geosynthetic and earthern materials.

PETER TZELEPIS

Executive Director - Sales & Business Development, Geofabrics

Peter has had over 25 years’ experience as a civil engineer with the last 20 in the geosynthetic industry. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from Monash University and a Master of Business Enterprise from the University of Melbourne. As an active member of the industry, Peter has a passion for the waste management sector in leading innovation and policy change in landfills.  He is heavily involved in the design, manufacture and supply of lining systems across all regions of Australia and International projects.

LUKE ADAMS

Associate Geological Engineer, Tonkin + Taylor

After graduating from RMIT as a bachelor of geological engineering, Luke has worked in the waste management industry developing detailed designs, verifying and Auditing construction of landfill infrastructure for the last 18 years. As an associate waste management engineer at T+T Luke provides high level technical input to a range of civil and environmental projects, specialising in waste and waste water containment at some of Australia’s largest and smallest waste management facilities. 

CALLUM BROWNING

Environmental engineer
 

Callum is an Environmental Engineer with 5 years’ experience in waste management, geotechnical engineering and contaminated land. His primary role at Tonkin + Taylor, where he was worked for the last 3 years, has been design and construction supervision of landfill cells, caps and leachate ponds.

RYAN HACKNEY

Geofabrics

Ryan has a Bachelors degree in Geological Sciences, a Masters in Engineering Geology and is the Technical and R&D Laboratory Manager at the Geofabrics Centre for Geosynthetic Research Innovation and Development (GRID). He has 14 years of international experience specialising in physical, mechanical, hydraulic and durability testing, research and analysis of all geosynthetic materials. Ryan is the Secretary for the Australasian Chapter of the International Geosynthetics Society.

AMIR SHAHKOLAHI

Technical Manager Australia and NZ, Global Synthetics

Amir has a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Eng. and Master’s degree in Environmental  Engineering. Amir is the a Board member of  the International Geosynthetic Society Technical Committees for Barriers (TC-B), board member of the QLD Landfill Working Group, Board member of the Waste Management and Resource Recovery of Australia in QLD, Vice-Chair of the Australian Geomechanics Society (AGS) Queensland chapter, Member of the ASTM Committee D35 on Geosynthetics.
