Michael Trushell

ACT NoWaste
Michael Trushell is the Executive Branch Manager of ACT NoWaste. He has been with ACT NoWaste since 2014 and is leading the ACT Government team that is drafting a new Circular Economy Strategy for the Territory. In 2020 he spent 12 months as a Senior Adviser in the Australian Government National Waste Policy Action Plan Program Office and the Waste Management Branch of the Department of the Environment and Energy. Michael has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Canberra and is a Certified Practicing Accountant.
ACT NoWaste is unique in recycling and waste management in Australia, providing both state/territory and local government-level functions. This provides opportunities to deliver sustainable services to the ACT community and influence and contribute efforts to improve waste management outcomes at local, regional and national levels.
