PETER KEANE

Director - SEQ Waste Portfolio Management Office, Council of Mayors (SEQ) 

Peter joined Council of Mayors – South East Queensland (CoMSEQ) in January 2023 as a member of the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) in the role of Director to deliver on the SEQ Waste Management Plan and represent the interests of all SEQ Councils. The key focus of the team is to deliver on its key objectives of tackling the diversion of waste from landfill by focussing on targeted priorities including recycled and organic material, residual waste and behaviour change.

Peter has spent 30+ years working across several sectors including Manufacturing, Mining, Oil & Gas, and Agriculture, with the last seven years being in Local Government. He brings experience in Project Management, Business & Strategic Management, Operation and Asset Management, Engineering, Business Performance, and Financial Management.

Previously to the CoMSEQ role, Peter was the Chief Executive Officer at Bunbury Harvey Regional Council (BHRC) and Operations / Technical Services Director for Local Government in Regional WA and NSW.
