HUGH CHRISTIE

Chief Executive Officer,  Tasmanian Waste and Resource Recovery Board

Hugh has spent the last twenty years in a variety of resource management roles, primarily focussed on the rural water sector, including the last ten years involving a range of senior management and executive roles in Tasmania and Victoria.

This has included significant experiences in advocating for change for better outcomes for customers and the community in both operational, regulatory, and advocacy roles within government businesses and member-based organisations.

These experiences have given Hugh a depth of knowledge and experience with the engagement of stakeholders and communities to not only understand their concerns, but to also work towards mutually beneficial outcomes.

His focus with the Waste and Resource Recovery Board is to ensure a robust approach that allows the Board to work with and invest in industry and the community to deliver sustainable changes and confidence in the sector to drive continued investment in reducing waste and maximising the value of resources.
