Webinar | Consultation on B-cycle 2.0
The Waste Management and Resource Recovery Association of Australia (WMRR) invite you to join us online on Tuesday, 16 July for the latest instalment of our #takebacktuesdays webinar series, featuring battery stewardship scheme - B-cycle.
Batteries is quite literally one of the industry's hottest topics, and for good reason, with battery-related fires impacting waste and resource recovery operations across the country. In response, the Battery Stewardship Council (BSC) has recently endorsed a proposal to move to an eco-modulated levy and rebate model in what has been dubbed B-cycle 2.0. The aim is to future-proof the scheme to create a circular economy for batteries and to address the current gaps in collection. As part of that process, the BSC has released a consultation paper, and is calling for feedback from industry. The deadline for feedback is Friday, 2 August 2024.
In this webinar, BSC Chief Executive Officer Libby Chaplin will speak to the paper and outline the redesign proposal. This will be followed by a feedback session moderated by WMRR Chief Executive Officer Gayle Sloan.
