PRE-CONFERENCE: TUESDAY, 31 OCTOBER 2023

WORKSHOP: The role of EfW in achieving 80% resource recovery and managing residual waste

 10:30am -   5:00pm

Australia has over 550 LGAs and each of them has its own unique set of challenges.  While everyone has heard about Energy from Waste, not everyone understands what it can (and can’t) do to help.

This interactive workshop is intended to give a special focus to Councils – an opportunity to share your unique concerns and have your questions addressed by a diverse collection of subject-matter experts.  You will be taken through the facts and offered practical insights and learnings from here and overseas – from crunching the numbers, recognising the challenges for local government, understanding the different types of EfW that exist, through to waste contracting strategies, policy and regulatory settings, and more.
